I was born in South Africa in 1972 and began my academic journey studying Digital Electronics at Technikon Pretoria (1992–2000). In 2010, I expanded my expertise with a qualification in Project Management from Varsity College, adding structure and leadership skills to my creative pursuits.
Photography, however, has always been my true passion. What started with a humble Kodak film camera grew into a lifelong journey of storytelling through images. As my equipment evolved, so did my eye for detail and my ability to capture emotion. My career as an Electronic Engineer gave me the means to invest in my first bridge camera—a Canon—which marked a turning point in transforming passion into profession.
Engineering also opened doors to travel, immersing me in diverse cultures and unforgettable experiences. Along the way, I documented lives, landscapes, and fleeting moments that spoke of connection, resilience, and beauty. Without realizing it, I was laying the foundation for Galaxias Photography—a business born from curiosity, creativity, and a deep love for storytelling through the lens.
Over the years, family and friends began inviting me to capture their most treasured occasions—intimate weddings, joyful family gatherings, newborn portraits, and milestone celebrations. What started as a simple hobby gradually evolved into something far more meaningful. Behind the lens, I found myself immersed in events filled with laughter, love, and connection, preserving memories destined to be cherished for generations.
As time passed, each shoot brought growth, experience, and a deeper appreciation for the power of photography. Looking back, I see how every story, every smile, and every fleeting moment helped shape the path toward Galaxias Photography—a journey built on trust, creativity, and the quiet magic of turning life’s heartfelt moments into timeless images.
In 2013, I realized that to elevate my photography, I needed to invest in learning. I enrolled in several international online courses to sharpen both my technical skills and creative eye. Around the same time, I joined a local photography club—a decision that proved invaluable. The club exposed me to diverse styles and genres, while workshops and set subjects pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Monthly competitions offered constructive feedback and fostered a sense of community.
Upgrading to a Nikon DSLR opened new creative possibilities, but the true turning point was an aha moment: what if photography wasn’t just a hobby, but a calling? That spark became Galaxias Photography.
My vision is simple: to capture life as it unfolds—preserving fleeting moments, creating lasting memories, and celebrating the beauty in everyday stories. I believe in being present, being creative, and finding joy in the act of seeing.
Join me in capturing life—raw, real, and radiant—one frame at a time.
